What’s in a name?

Welcome fellow Bloggers!

This a new project that I am starting called ‘What’s in a name?’

Yes, it is taken from Shakespeare, my bae.

‘What’s in a name? that which we call a rose
by any other name would smell as sweet’
Romeo and Juliet (II, ii, 1-2)

However, the project has nothing to do with Shakespeare or any of his plays.

Since my blog is already about poetry, I wanted to further my roots by writing a series of poems about objects of my everyday life, or their lack thereof.

This is based on the philosophy that everything in our lives is made up of poetry, be it the sunrise, my coffee cup, or a stain on my dress; everything has a story to tell.

You ask why I named the project so? That is because I believe that things go beyond their names, they hold more depth than that as I constantly try to question ‘What if one day someone repositioned your bed? Would that evoke a sense of newness in you? Any emotion?’ and the answer I always find is that this will evoke a chain of thoughts that could lead to poetry.

Stay tuned, because soon I will unravel the most mundane things in form of verse.

I will appreciate any review or thoughts in the comment section. Like and share whatever you like. Maybe even tell me the significance of that certain object in your life that my work is about.

Happy reading!
