If you ask me about love

Empty soda bottles,
coffee cups,
a letter to my lover
I never delivered,
a book of stolen memories,
pages upon pages
of history,
a deleted conversation,
words indented,
scars on my thighs,
bags under my eyes,
concealer on my heart,
cigarette blues,
a moon-locket,
a key to a ring,
foam promises,
a kiss on my cheek,
a sultry scent,
a fire alarm heart,
chopsticks for three,
a thought that we could be.

If you ask me about love,
I would make a list of all the things
that made it not be.
