Oxymoron

You told me
to take a left turn,
so I turned right.

Headlights,
kitchen lights,
blindingly dim.
What describes us better
than a couple of
opposing metaphors,
anti-thesis,
oxymoron,
paradoxes,
and all other words
to make our doom
darkness
seem poetic.

So it should not
strike as blazing lightning
that cuts and burns up
your conscious
when tomorrow
you ask
for a little more
and I walk out the door.
